David’s the founder of The Good Brownie Co, a small, independent family business specialised in gluten free and wheat free brownie.

He saw 95% of his business die overnight because of COVID-19 and discovered Occupyd as an opportunity to bring extra income to his business.

“We didn’t realise there was an opportunity to rent it out. If I’d known about your service before, I would have rented out the kitchen space over the weekend for additional revenue even before.”

Why did you decide to list your commercial kitchen at Occupyd?

COVID happened and 95% of our business kind of died overnight. That’s because we used to physically sell our brownies to offices all around London. With what happened, our kitchen space was hardly being used.

A friend of mine referred Occupyd to me, I looked into the website and that’s when I put the listing on. My motivation was to drive revenue stream.

How is Occupyd supporting your business?

Without Occupyd and without finding the people through your service, we would have been in a much worst position financially.

Before the pandemic, we were using the kitchen almost every day. We just didn’t work on the weekends, but we didn’t realise there was an opportunity to rent it out. If I’d known about your service before, I would have rented out the kitchen space over the weekend for additional revenue even before.

If you’ve got available kitchen space, you’d be crazy not to use the service.

How does Occupyd make it easier for you to rent out your space?

Occupyd does all the work for me. I don’t have to put ads out or look for renters. I just need to list my space and then people show interest.

How was your experience with Occupyd Space Seekers?

We first talk to all the people that are interested, then find the ones we like, and we are happy for them to rent the space. It’s very simple and easy to use!

I kept the price low, because I remember when we were starting out and it was difficult to find affordable space as a business. So, I wanted to offer that same opportunity to other people, that’s why I made sure my price was reasonable and affordable for people starting out.

Tell us a bit about The Good Brownie Co.

We’re a small, independent family business. The Good Brownie Co. started in 2012 from home and at some point, we had about 12 people working for us at our house. That was when we decided to move into a commercial space. Since we moved to a professional set up, things just got busier and busier. We built our customer base by delivering freshly baked brownies directly to offices and now we’re establishing our business online at https://goodbrownies.co.uk.
