Emily’s the founder of Maid of Gingerbread. She designs and makes modern 3D gingerbread creations for events, film, TV, and installations in her beautiful East London kitchen-studio.
When she was just starting out and looking for a small commercial kitchen she found it really hard to find somewhere suitable and affordable, so now she would like to give new small businesses that opportunity by renting her space out whenever she’s not busy baking.
How does Occupyd make it easier for you to rent out your space?
It works well, I’m being connected with the right people and I had some nice enquiries through Occupyd.
How was your first booking?
We got connected and she had a few questions, so we just messaged in the message board. We then arranged a time for her to come and see the kitchen.
After that, we went ahead with the booking on Occupyd, so it all was a really simple process. She was happy at a day of baking and I was happy because she left the kitchen really clean!
How has been your experience on Occupyd?
I really like the ethos behind Occupyd and the way that the company operates. It’s really well designed and the way that the website works is really easy – I like that.

Why did you decide to rent out your space with Occupyd?
When I was just starting out and looking for a small commercial kitchen I found it really hard to find somewhere suitable and affordable, so now I’ve got a space I like to give new small businesses that opportunity by renting it out whenever I’m not busy baking.
Who is Emily?
I grew up enjoying baking and I’m completely self taught. So I just started doing it from scratch and built it up really slowly. Originally, I studied music so I still play in my spare time.
From my kitchen, I make detailed 3D gingerbread replicas of existing buildings rather than normal gingerbread houses. So I design and make modern gingerbread creations for events, film, TV, and installations.
