Chef Danny Jack
“Occupyd has given me a platform for people to find my space. I was kind of invisible before, so now I’m getting enquiries every week.”
With 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, chef Danny Jack runs a catering business from his commercial kitchen in South London.
He joined Occupyd in June 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic impacted his business.
How did you find people to rent your kitchen space before Occupyd?
Most of the time I was busy in the kitchen myself, so I’ve rented my space to other chefs and other catering companies that I know through my own networks. It wasn’t until I was listed on Occupyd that I started receiving enquiries from further afield and outside of those networks.
How does Occupyd make it easier for you to rent out your space?
Occupyd has given me a platform for people to find my space. I was kind of invisible before, so now I’m getting enquiries every week.
What are the biggest benefits of using Occupyd?
I think the obvious one is to receive a revenue stream that contributes towards my high London rent. There’s also a collaborative element where I’m genuinely interested in being a chef myself and learning about other people’s businesses.
How has been your experience on Occupyd?
My space was listed pretty pretty instantly. And I started getting bookings straightaway. So yeah, it was it was very easy to use.
I like the simplicity of Occupyd, I like how it is a very easy platform to use. It’s all about the spaces listed.
Who is Danny Jack?
I’m a chef based in South London. I’ve run an events company and I host supper clubs and private dining experiences in my kitchen and event space. I’ve been working in the hospitality industry for nearly 15 years.
What’s next for your business?
I’m now looking to launch a new online food delivery service, which I’ve been working on for the last three months.
We feel like it’s really exciting to have a new offer in this growing market. We’re looking forward to supplying some brilliant foods to people that live in South London.
